Ok here is my scenario... I'm currently doing my first semester at university, taking random courses (1 kinesiology, 2 fine arts, 1 communication course) I know for a fact that I want to have a career in filmmaking after university. And I know you're asking... Why is he spending $$$ for university when he can just go right into the film business? I want to get a formal education... also, I feel that I greatly matured living independently for the past 2 months, so imaging living independently for 4 years! I will be a man
Here is the dilemma...
I'm thinking about majoring in Communications, specifically Media and Culture. I believe this will help me somewhat with my filmmaking... Should I go this route, or just major in film? The film program here is decent, and very hands on. But I feel I can learn all this stuff through books and making my own movies.
Anyways.. advice is needed
Also, maybe you could give a little background on your education and where you are now with film...
Sorry for the rambling...
