Need settings for night shoot Bklyn Bridge and lower Manhattan

I'm shooting a short with my DVX100A from the Bklyn side of the Bklyn Bridge and will be using the bridge and the illuminated buildings of lower Manhattan financial district as the back ground.

I am dealing with bridge and building lights in the distance but mostly it's dark night.
Are there settings that will allow me to get more than the lights but also the river and bridge and buildings? I'm just looking to get as much as I can thats better than distant shadows and darkness.

Thanks,

JJ

If your shooting 24P:

Try shooting @ 1/24 shutter to let more light into the lens. There are also settings you can change to increase your gain by smaller amounts(refer to your manual as it will take forever for me to post it). Smaller increase in gain lessens the effects of noise with just enough to get your image looking pretty good in low light situations.

As far as getting the river in your shot, moonlight is great for lighting it up abit as well as any other reflections that might hit it.

Good luck
