Need Redrock Help

I am in a bit of a bind. I am shooting a short with a Redrock on an HVX but i don't have a matte box therefore my 4x4's are useless. I have a shot for which I need to use a polarizer. My question: Can I backload an 82mm circular polarizer on the HVX or will that be too much stress on the threads even with the rod support? Will it effect the image clarity in any way? Is there any way I can jerry rig the 82mm to the front of my 35mm lens? How can I fix this problem?

Thanks!

Can't you just buy a polarizer that fits the front of your 35mm lens? Any Ritz/Wolf/whatever is in your neck of the woods should have them.

I am about a two hour drive from the nearest camera store so I was hoping I could work with what I have. So I'm guessing my solutions aren't a viable option?

Putting the 82mm polarizer between the HVX and the M2 should work fine, with the caveats that it might be hard to operate whatever portion spins to alter the polarization... and you'd have to reset your backfocus because the camera is now farther from the GG.
