Movies/DVDs shoot on DVX

Can anyone recommend 3-5 really good movies shoot on the DVX that I can find on DVD at say Blockbuster.

After 18 months of begging my wife, I am two weeks away from purchasing my DVX. Lastnight I randomly rented a movie shot on the DVX and was VERY DISSAPPOINTED at the look of the film. It has really set me back, mentally.

I really need to see a couple of success stories, beautiful, visual, breath taking shots/scenes etc. I know they are out there, and I need to see a couple of them right now, really bad. Please help...

PM me your address, I will mail you some DVDs. You will become a convert. We will officially welcome you into the fold.

What movie did you watch? PM me and I can give you a link to my latest film.

Oh yeah... Owen's stuff rocks

Would you guys mind posting some major titles shot on the DVX aswell?
I have been asked this before, but i could only think of TV shows that used it, not movies.

Owen, Brandon, I just took a look at both of your sites and checked out your trailers, man that's filmmaking. I must say "I WILL NEVER SECOND GUESS THE DVX AGAIN, EVER." Panasonic owe you thanks for doing their product such justice. When I grow up I want to be like you, making movies like that :)

A-we-so-me, AWESOME!

I can't wait to get my camera and learn what it can do.

Owen, I look forward to seeing the "Sugar Creek Gang," in it's intirity. I will be camping out by the mail box.

Brandon, I will look at yours later today when I get my decktop back from the repair shop.

Thank you guys so much, I REALLY needed to see that...

There are hundreds of 'em, some you may find in Blockbuster. Murderball isn't maybe the best in cinematography, but it was nominated for an Oscar for best doc; your Blockbuster may have it. November won best cinematography at Sundance; it's an odd picture but it does have an interesting look to it, and your Blockbuster may have it. The Aristocrats was shot with a DVX, but I don't know if they paid any attention to cinematography in it, and it's extremely offensive (on purpose) so I don't know if that one would fit your requirements. Mad Hot Ballroom should be at your Blockbuster, but again as a doc there really wasn't much in the way of cinematography to show it off.

Don't forget "Barry Green's - The DVX DVD". I'm fairly certain it was shot on a DVX. lol

I have it sitting on my shelf right now. It sits between HERO and NATIONAL TREASURE. You can read into that as much as you want. :)

LOL. um... there was actually a first 10 can see it kind of a deal on my thread a few nights ago... you might want to wait for an LA screening anyway.

Thanks Barry, I will pick up one or two of these this weekend while waiting on Owen's DVDs.

PK, I can't wait to see Barry's DVD. It will mean I will have my camera :)

Barry and fellow forum members. I am a writer (and a very good one if I may say so myself), with very limited filmmaking experience (hence the stupid questions I have asked on this forum over the last couple of years).

I just want to thank each and every one of you for your inputs to this forum. Because of you, I have shot 3 shorts, exclusively from the training/knowledge from each and every one of you.

This summer I will take everything I have learned from this forum and shoot my first feature and next year I will be retiring from the Air Force after 24 years, to spend the next 50 years making/shooting all of the screenplays I have written. And believe me I have written a lot. Traveling to 72 countries have given me lots to write about.

Anyway, I just want to say thanks and let you know that your inputs mean a lot to someone like me (an aspiring, ametur at best), and that the time you take to answer a stupid question can really have an impact on future filmakers.

Thanks again and I wish all of you the best...Paul

Brandon, I am kind of embassed of my shorts, (not the stories themselves, but my directing, framing, etc), they are not bad, but were shot when I was just starting out. I have learn a lot over the last couple of years from those projects and this forum, but still not where I want to be.

I would be glad to send you one of my screenplays though, I am quite proud of everyone of them. I have been offered $30K-$50K for several of them, but felt the filmmakers would make too many changes, destroying the intent of the stories.

PM me your address and I will drop a really nice thriller in the mail this weekend.

As a matter of fact, I will send the short along with it. It was the last one I did, and by for the best of the three. I had a DP for that one and some of the best local talent here in Salt Lake. Read the script first, because the short ends up going a totally different direction.
