Hi Guys,

I have been using one of these IDX LED's for a few months now, with it's barn doors and filter kit.

seems very good compared to the Anton Bauer Ultra which was like having a torch on the cam.
White balance is needed as the IDX LED light is a very white light..filters are nearly mandatory.
It seems to not drain much power at all from the Cams battery, and best part is when doing close interviews the ability to turn down the "intesity" is great...it's slid on mount is fast and is light weight...all round good fast run n gun light.
cheers

You're right, the LP Micro Pro. It's bright!

Have the same and can vouch for what Tom stated above. I usually run a 1/4 cto for a 5600k balance, but the way it slips into the barns is easy and I usually never take it out.

The IDX has 2 black barns, but two have a filter insert, that once placed in can stay in and will never slip out. As well as the 1/4 cto mentioned above, I use difussion in the other. Very easy to pull out from scratch and have it set in moments.

One more light that Lowel "acquired" is coming to fruition soon. It's called the "Blender" - an LED model that has both 3200 and 5600k bulbs to let you blend the perfect light in those mixed color environments we often find ourselves in. It was invented by a working camera person with a passion, he's no joke http://blenderlights.com/company.html
When we were testing the Blender at the Lowel booth at NAB09 I happened to have the MicroPro and the MicroBeam128, both good lights, but the Blender could be seen 20 feet away on the wall, and believe it or not, we could still see the output when pointed up into the darkened convention center ceiling above the Lowel booth, that's like 40 feet up! It may be worth waiting for...
