I am in need of a local (Chicagoland area) editor for my no-budget feature documentary. This is for those with little experience, but passionate about editing and just want to gain more experience. This is my second self-produced feature documentary. The first was edited by me with one of my very experienced friends overseeing the post production. This time around, I would love to have a dedicated creative editor because I am far from being a good editor. The only requirements I have is that you have your own editing equipment and must be passionate about editing (no directors who do editing on the side). I also prefer someone with a good music sense and understanding of rhythm. On the technical side, I am using a Panasonic GH-1 and some of the shots still have the 60i wrapper so you have to be able to convert it to 24p (this was before I used the hack on the firmware).
Again this is a no-budget feature documentary, so the only thing you will gain is experience. I really hope this project goes to festivals but I can’t guarantee anything but a good time and experience. Student editors are welcome too.
