Need help with Synchro Scan

Hi, I am trying to take video of a web site and keep getting Moire patterns.

I tried adjusting the Synchro Scan to a higher and lower levels in both FilmCam and Video modes but still the patterns persist.

Interestingly, I never get the typical horizontal bar that can goes up and down the screen no matter what the settings. It's just the Moire patterns that interfere.

I am using a MacBook Pro with display settings at 1850X1050.

Any help would be appreciated.

Moire has nothing to do with shutter speed (which is what synchro-scan adjusts). It has to do with the finer grid detail of the screen (not display resolution, the physical screen itself) getting the better of the coarser sensor grid in your camera. Best (only, really) way to deal with it is soften your focus a tiny bit.

Better, skip the camera at all and use screen recording software like Camtasia.

Thanks, I think you are right. I always wonder how films capture web pages. I will check into Camtasia and see if Leopard will be compatible. I am still using Final Cut Studio. And won't change operating systems until I am done with this project.
