Need help with sb600 speedlight settings with my D7100.

[Deer Film]

Hi
Do you recommend any youtube videos, websites, or setting I can use to get better results with my SB600 and D7100.
Right now, I know I am not getting the most out of it because I am just using it in automatic mode.
I would like to find settings using the flash for conference events, weddings, and portraits.

thank you for your help.

IIRC, the SB600 has no +/- dials or even manuell settings?

strobist is a very good site, but could be a little overkill for the beginning...
