Hi. I really could use some help with this. I've got a problem with different frame rates.
I have a Canopus capture card, and it only captures at 30 (29.97) fps. This is fine if I'm just editing video.
I've got a PC and use Adobe Premiere Pro and you can't edit in 24 fps in it.
But that doesn't matter usually because I capture at 30 and edit and it looks fine because the footage was shot 24p.
But I'm trying to create effects in After Effects using 3D environments and keying blue screen footage. Similar to the ''Gay Boyfriend'' music video which was shot with a DVX on a greens screen set and the backgrounds were done in After Effects. If you haven't seen it, you can view it here:
GB Video
Anyway, my problem is that the footage, which was originally shot at 24p is now a 30fps video that LOOKS like 24fps. When I make the backgrounds in AE and key the footage, it has to be set at 29.97fps in order for the footage to play smoothly, but the backgrounds look weird because they're going at 30fps when the footage is 24.
But if I set it to 24fps then the backgrounds look great, but the footage looks choppy.
I know this is a long and complicated post... but basically, what I'm asking is: WHAT CAN I DO???
Is there a way to work this out, or am I just screwed?
Thanks.
