Need help with an effect

Hello all. I just got particular for after effects cs3. I was wondering can somebody help me with this effect? http://youtube.com/watch?v=5czxq8kSi9U
I know how to do the vanishing point trick what I need to know is how they did the sparks and the magic bolts. if you have a project file it would be most helpful but if not if it's possible to explain it. All your help will be greatly apreciated. Thanks you for all replies in advance.
 
The bolts could be done with the lightning generator. Sparks would have to be the particle generator. If you're trying to do it to a moving shot, you'll have to track the points in space. That's the starting place. This is a pretty complex shot if you've never done something like this before.
 
I want it to be a stable shot i have done tracking before its the way the sparks are and bounce on the floor that amazed me. thanks again for all replies you can give.
 
Maybe you can find someone here who is more comfortable with particle effects... They're pretty complicated and I'm still learning myself.
 
Do they really bounce on the floor? Looks like they could just spread in 2d from the Particular emitter after the bolts are done. I'm not seeing them bounce at all. Might just be my monitor, though.
 
I am thinking thats not too difficult although Particular has heavy duty learning curve

ote: There is even a bit of mistracking at the end from the top emitter.

Yes I have vision lab I can do the bolt but the sparks how it falls on the floor it looks amazing and i wanted to try to pull it off with a modification of my own. Im going to keep working on it. Thanks again guys keep those ideas coming.
 
you can set the physics module of your spark particles to bounce and then set the floor layer from vanishing point as the floor layer in particular
 
Also, if you click on "more info" on the youtube page, he tells you how he created the effect. And he tells you where to get the project file and tutorial from
