Hey all. I just got my new computer, its all built up and such and now I am trying to get all my old documents from my old hard drive (NOT old computer, its... dead) onto the new one. Heres the way I am doing it:
Old HDD goes into the new computer, I open the old HDD up and copy the files I want from that to the new one. Now, heres where I hit a snag. I can not open the "Dory" folder in Documents and Settings, it gives me an "Access is denied" message. Now, normally, I could just hook up the two computers and migrate everything over the network. But, since the HDD is the only surviving part of the old system, I cant really do that.
My question is this: How do I get into the user folder to acces My Documents?
Thanks for any help,
Dory
WinXP if you hadnt figured it out yet.
