Need help. What is best video size, format,codecs.... for fast qulity play for web?

my own personal preference is:
H.264
14mb/s for 720p
18mb/s for 1080p
AAC audio 320kb/s
H.264

variable bit rate
2 pass encoding
check any box where it says render at maximum quality/depth,
I usually crank up the mb/s as much as possible.
These options will make the render process slow, usually I start the rendering before I go to bed, so I don't have to wait for it during the day.
