Need Help!!! Sony HDR - FX7

Hey Guys,

I know that this is not a Sony HDR-FX7 FORUM But I am having a major issue and need help!

Just filmed a talent show for my goddaughter and filmed from SonyHDRFX7 on to SONY HDV Mini DV 63 TAPE. The tape was used before and worked fine. I taped over it, and I am getting a blue screen on replay. Every couple of minutes i get some of the talent show, but for the most part it is blue. When i get to the end of the talent show about 3 minutes or so, the old footage plays and plays fine. When I rewind, i notice that the counter in the top right of the lcd viewer is skipping numbers. For example going backwards 3:22 - :::: to 2:59 to ::::::

Anyone that could help, I would really appreciate it!!!!!

Seriously?

Use a head cleaning cassette.

But there's a very good chance the tape is bad, and that there's not a good recording there to recover.

As a general rule, Stick with one brand of high quality tape media, and don't change to other tape stocks. If you ever have to change tape stocks (old tape is discontinued, client demand...), clean the heads and test a tape to make sure it's taking to it.

And...
with MiniDV particularly... whenever something is important, use a fresh, never used tape.
