Hello there everybody.IM very new to this forum so i would like to say greetings! hehe
Basically im directing a low budget feature film by end of this year.We are now on pre production.I have a Panasonic HPX-170 with Letus Extreme and some nikon prime lenses. So i want to use the 5d mark 2 as well so now i dont know which camera to use as camera a and b..So please help me decide.

1. 5d sensors a much bigger then hpx 170,so in which is best if u want to show in the cinema

2. will the image blend togerther when editing or u can notice the quality dfference.

It would be great if u guys can help.

Thank you very much.

Maybe someone will have a magic formula on getting your two cams to cut together, but you will need to experiment for yourself. Have you decided what type of look you want for your film? If it is a feature, and you have control over your set, why would you use two cams?

Hahaha, really hope there is a magic formula.Okay so i havent decided to use 2 cameras or just 1,So lets say i stick with 1 camera production.Still i dont know which camera to use.Ive seen Kevin shahinians City of Lakes which was shot on the 5d.Thats amazing,Kalid Mohtaseb's lebenon footage.amazing.Which i think is more suitable for Cinema release.Bascally thats the look i want(city of lakes, lebenon) But can the Panny hpx170 + letus extreme set give me that kind of image? I have tried shotting some videos but it doesnt turn out like the look i wanted for this feature. Is it to do with color correction? The 5d has a much larger sensor,of course thats better right? hehe sorry formthis amateur question, still learning cinematography....really glad and thankfull you that the seniors here can help.....

I appreciate the compliment, but in my case, it isn't justified. I wouldn't be the best source for some of the info you seek. I can tell you that shooting with the 170 will be more straightforward with less hassle. For example, you can record audio straight to cam much easier. You can record longer clips. You will have more professional controls. If you are shooting with an adapter you can get the shallow DOF also. Overall, I think the workflow with the 170 will be easier. I am sure there are DSLR fans who would preach a different sermon.

hehe, thanks grant.appreciate the suggestion.Hopefully i can get more suggestion from the seniors here. The workflow challenge isnt much of a thing to me as my main priority is to get image as good as 35mm film camera which i know is not possible. But i just want to get as close as possible u know.Of course with proper lighting and cinematography.
