Hey folks,

I know how to make timelapse using my Canon 50D. I use an intervalometer so my 50D can take n number of shots. Using my Panasonic TM700, there is a timelapse option and it creates a movie file. In GH2, how is it done?

Thanks!

Intervalometer.

If you are open to applying hacks there is a TImeBuster patch over at www.personal-view.com that uses video files instead of snapping stills. I have used it and was happy with the results.

Here is another reason to get the GH3. It has a built in time lapse feature and it works great! I always hated the cable hanging from the camera and worrying about batteries in the intervalometer.

I'll sell you mine since I don't have a GH2 anymore :) PM me.

It's ok for me not to go with GH3 since I'll just be using GH2 just for my hobby. It won't be anything professional. So looks like intervalometer is fine for me. :)

Thanks for all the inputs!

keylight,

I'm enjoying the website you posted. Awesome videos there! :)

Yeah, some great stuff! I shoot some timelapse now and then, and the site looks like it can be a good place to exchange ideas.

Am I correct that GH2 doesn't have a shutter? Does the GH2 have bulb mode?

GH2 has a mechanical shutter and bulb mode.

GH3 also has both, but I believe the mechanical shutter can be turned off and you can use an electronic shutter (GH2 does not have this feature).

Not that you're planning to get the GH3, but from the GH3 manual (I love the privacy warning!):
