NEED Help on FS700

Hi,

I am relatively new here and my english is far from perfect. I received a FS700 mainly for Action Sports in particle from just see level. Surfing, Kiting, Windsurfing.

I filmed some surfing yesterday at the World Cup in Germany. And I got lots of problems with the shutter. The kites were moving fast. But It seems already a problem to just tilt the tripod head. If I am on SQ 60p all looks smooth and fine I used a shutter as close as possible to 1/120 (think it was 125). Also 100 and 200 frames looked good. I could not use the double frame rate as typical german weather did not allow for that high shutter.

BUT... on 24p (also25p) the picture just seem to jump. There is no smooth image. I tried (on 24p) shutter: 25,48,and all above and it just seems to get a bit better as higher i go. But on my AF100 I just kept it always on 1/48 (24p) and it was perfect all the time. What I am doing wrong. It must be my mistake!!! Because most footage I see online is clean. Unfortunately there is not much 24P footage. Instead it is overloaded with 240p ... which I understand having a great clip yesterday from my water housing.

Could someone please help me....... Thanks, Andre

Andre! .. sorry.. I'm not sure I've got what you mean... what is "jump" ?? .. If you are talking about stuttering / judder - there no way to shoot at 24fps and don't get it.. :(
This why I shoot at 30fps any time I can.. I will be happy to shoot at 48fps.. but, unfirtunately we don't have it in FS-700 .....

Here some info about stuttering - http://blog.abelcine.com/2012/01/10/24p-judder-and-60i-conversion/ / http://www.hdvideopro.com/technique/miscellaneous-technique/help-desk-did-i-judder.html?start=1

I hope it will help you ..
