This is such a hard decision. I am looking for a monitor for my PC setup. I have a i7 970 HP 16 GB ram. I sit about 16 inches from my monitor when I am working on HD video, 3D animation, or doing graphics. Not sure if it is true, but I read from one person that it is good to sit back 2 feet if you have a 27 inch monitor. Do you agree? I would like to spend around 300 to 400 for one. I hear so much about dead pixels. Never had one before. I do own a dell ultrasharp 2007FP, and it does a great job. I can see the screen at any angle. Going to give that to the wife, and I will upgrade. I looked at HP monitors, but not sure about that glossy finish. Is matte betterMaybe it is a good thing, not sure.
Here are a few recommendations I have gotten so far.
HPzr24w
Hanns-G 27.5" (28").
viewsonic 27" VX2739WM TFT active matrix LCD
HP 2509m
ASUS VW246H 24-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor / VW266H 25.5-Inch

what is your suggestion

thanks for any help on this

I might look at the Ultrasharp 24 inch dell. I think it is 2410
Anything comparable to this?

I like to stay about 16 inches away, i think the 24 inch would be better then a 27 for my needs. Plus a good 27 is to spendy.

Then if I went the extra money, is the Dell ultrasharp 24" 2410 my best choice for the money? I think it would be between 500 to 600.
