Ok I got a weird error and Google searches are not returning any results.

On some sites NOT ALL my input text fields change to foreign characters when I type. Again, this does not happen all the time just on some sites. here is what happened when I typed my name "Jason Adams" into a login field.

The strange thing is, it let me log in. It seems that it is just the DISPLAY of characters. This only happens on a few sites. Like actionmethod.com and mac.com.

It gets stranger. When I tried to reply to YouTube mail; YouTube places the senders name in the send-to box automatically. And this is what it did.

That one I did not even type. It was Auto filled by YouTube.

I am running Firefox on a PC. I have tried FF 3.0.4 and the New 3.1 Beta and it is the same.

Any Ideas?

Maybe you should just change your name! How would you even pronounce that anyway???

...

um, sorry. I wish I could help. Mac user here using FF and have never encountered that.

good luck!

have you cleared your private data? what font and language do you have your browser set to?

Well the closest thing like this that has ever happened to me was a spyware/virus type of thing. I would try searching your computer first for all of that kind of thing, do some scans. If that doesn't fix it try using a different browser to see if it is firefoxs fault or not (try google chrome). If it happens across different browsers then I'm not really sure what it could be.

If you are using IE look at View->encoding when you are on different sites. If it changes than that is the likely cause of the problem. Why it changes I am not sure.

HA HA Success. Thanks Tom and everyone. That link on the Mozilla forums did not answer the question directly, but it did get me thinking about the problem in a different way. FONTS. As it turns out my default version of Helvetica was from a different language set. Any site that wanted Helvetica would give me this problem.

I deleted weird Helvetica and all is well. Thanks Everyone.

You think that is bad? I have a 3D app that decided it liked a Klingon font, so it used that for all the system messages and menus. Same result as what you experienced.
