I bought recently a nice Manfrotto HDV 701 head to use with my Canon 550D to make videos, but i realised that my currect Cullmann Magnesit 519 tripod has a male 1/4 attach screw and the Manfrotto head has a large 3/8 female thread on the bottom.
I decided to buy some 1/4 to 3/8 adaptor, but these "brass covered with chrome" types are fragile, broken in half about a second, and i was lucky that i could remove the remains of the adaptor from my new head - and even if it would be made from quality steel, i dont trust in these anymore, so i would like to get a new tripod.
Actually i dont need a heavy duty pro video product for the 550D because its a light camera, so no need for earthquake-proof stabilily, but a better photo tripod with the proper 3/8 screw would be perfect, between 100-200$.
Any recommendation? If its available in Europe.. thats even better!
