Need help choosing a K-Tek boompole.

They are both great poles. Keep in mind that the CCR base on the avalon pole is glued on, and the CCR base on the Klassic is a screw on assembly. The screw on assembly makes it easier to get into the actual CCR for any sort of maintenance or service issues. With a bottom that is glued on, you can't really do that. Other than that, they both use the same graphite, and the collars are the same, the Avalon collars are just machined differently on the outside to give them a different look.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

I just ordered the KTK152CC. Any thoughts on this model? Is the bottom glued on too?

If you are talking about the K-152CC, then no. That's one of the Klassic poles, and the all the bottoms on the Klassic poles are removable.

Thanks for the response. So that means if I ever need to fix something, it possible, correct? First, it shouldn't need fixing, right?

That's the idea. Want to make them as serviceable as possible. I've seen all kinds of crazy stuff happen to poles, through no fault of the manufacturer. Several years ago I saw an expensive boom pole that was loaded on a steakbed going to location fall off the back of the truck because it wasn't strapped down well, and then proceed to get run over by a bunch of cars. I've seen connectors get jacked up. In case something unfortunate like this happens, we want it to be easy to replace a part of the pole that needs replacing, either by the end user, an audio dealer, or us.
