ok so.. obviously this camera is not meant to shoot in low light conditions.
ie. my friends band is playing a show TONIGHT in manhattan, and i wanna shoot it cause im in the process of makeing a video for them.

so my question is.. is there any other way to get a brighter shot than turning the NDfilter off and using manual iris and opening all the way? this may sound stupid, but i can't even see an image! I NEED MORE LIGHT!

if possible, PLEASE HELP ME! :)

Jack up your gain. That is the only option, if you can't get someone in lighting to put in more lights. I had to use the gain at a concert in Malibu, no choice. But it added a grunge look that I could take advantage of in post.

If you can't see an image at all, then something's wrong.

For the most light in the camera, stay to the wide-angle side of the lens, open the iris all the way to "OPEN", turn the ND Filter all the way to "off", and consider setting the shutter speed to 1/24 (if shooting 24p). Use HIGH gamma to get about 1/4 stop more exposure. You can use up to 12dB of gain to make the image 4x brighter than normal but it'll get noisy at that level.

But by far the far and away BY FAR best thing to do is just put a light on the camera. Even a little 20w light will do more for your image than anything else you could do.

A camera is a light-gathering device. Starve it and it will not reward you, but feed it and it will work wonders.
