Need help. Appears to be interlacing lines in progressive footage. Cant' figure out.

Hi All,

I shot footage in 720 24pn mode. Then brought the MXF files in a 720 23.97 project in Avid. When I view the footage, during left or right pans, I can see what looks like interlacing lines across the screen. It makes no sense to me why this is happening when the footage is progressive and the computer monitor is progressive. Can anyone shed any light into this.
Thanks
Art

The "strobing" inherent with 24fps?

It's not strobbing. It is straight lines across the screen. Can it be anything else beside interlaceing?

Can someone show me an example of strobbing, which i'm pretty sure it is not.

hm... Well, I'm stumped. I had this problem once too, but found the solution to be changing the 24 capture setting to advanced... But, you're dealing with HVX footage here, it shouldn't be a problem.

That is exactly why I can't figure it out either. I'm not capturing. It is already files so no change is being done to the cadence to convert into interlaced clips.

I'm really at a loss on this one, as I haven't edited footage from the HVX on avid yet. Maybe some others can help.
