need great quality DVD with DVX100b shot in 60i on FCP timeline with 29.97 and 23.98?

I've looked around for answers but can't find any specific to my needs.

I shot a music video in 60i on the DVX100B and captured to FCP 5 at 29.97 (NTSC DV 48htz)
The timeline is set to 29.97 and a few shots I converted to 23.98 using cinema tools in order to get smooth slow-mo. The video is about 4 mins. I exported to quicktime and burned to DVD using DVD studio pro but the DVD looks very choppy. What can I do to get a very high quality DVD? Do i need to export using compressor? if so what settings? My skills editing I feel are well above average and all the videos I've made look very professional until I attempt to burn to a DVD. I have yet to produce a good quality DVD to my liking. Please offer some advice.
