Hi Yall,
i need advice on out putting a music video I just completed, hot on the HVX, to RAYLIGHT AVI< edited in ppro cs3 and finished in AECS3.

I need to deliver it by DIgi beta to a music video cable station. how do I do this?
Can anyone recommend a facility in los angeles that does this?

thanks

First you will need to down convert it to standard definition. I would recommend using a hardware solution for this. Perhaps the Teranex (Teranax?), or one of the Kona or Black Magic cards. Than out put it to tape. All three of these hardware solutions will allow you to output to tape. You can always use a software solution for down converting but to show your work at its best use a hard ware down conversion.

Here's what we did (in a clumsy way) in a Post house of an DVCPRO HD Mastered project:

1- Exported trough firewire to DVCPRO HD Tape and deck (the 1400, if I'm not mistaken). Did hardware downconversion from dvcpro HD deck SDI into Digibeta deck. Supposedly, there's no generation loss, except for the downconversion trough SDI.

This might not be the ideal solution, but its what we did for an International TV Spot.

EDIT- I see you're using railight on a pc. This workflow was for a project edited natively in DVCPRO HD in FCP. Sorry about that.

I guess I prased the question the wrong way. besides It was a whole lot easier than I thought. I was actually concerned with what compression format to outputfrom. I realized its the same as everything else, you just output from your nle straight to tape, Real simple. But in case anyone needed to know Ablecine does Data to tape tranfers.
