Hi Doug, thanks so much for trying to revive it. If you have any specific contact info for how to contact the correct dept. at Sony I'll send them a email. Thanks again..
**Edit: Doug, I just got a call from a tech at a rental house here in NY with a possible fix. I'll let ya know when I get back from there but you'll never believe what the problem was. Basically, their and Sony's theory is slog got "put on to it" somehow when I tested it and somehow parts of it remained even after they removed the firmware back to their SxS slog card. We'll see..
**Update: Resolved.
After I shot some test shots with slog installed at Hello-World here in NY, they transferred the slog option back to their card. When I got home all of the issue's with my SxS card began. What happened is somehow and this is the first time Sony has ever seen this according to them is, "elements" of the slog firmware were transferred to and got stuck in my non-slog SxS card that was in slot B during the tests, I was recording to that card as well. When Hello-World tried to use or rent the card some time after, the card would not load the firmware. When I went in today we put my SxS card(that was frozen) and their SxS slog card in the cam, now the cam was recognizing my card. With advice from Sony, we shut off the cam, removed my card, restarted the cam with just their slog card and were able to completely put the firmware back on to their card. Basically, there is a chance in a million that installing or uninstalling slog back to it's host SxS card while another card is in the cam can result in a failed un/installation of slog. To be clear though, slog did not remain on the cam but parts of it were on my card and their slog SxS card rendering both inoperable. Believe it or not the slog test shots I did were still on my card even after Doug Jensen and I tried everything to reformat it.
Huge thanks go out to Matthew at Hello-World for figuring this all out. Sounds like another firmware update is in order..
