Need a pin for the audio door - not available...

After months of enquires I'm told I have to buy a complete new side for the camera ($300+) as the thin pin that acts as a hinge for the audio controls door has dissapeared. You can get a pin for the P2 card door but not the audio door Pathetic Panasonic!!!!!!

Anyone had this too/or have a solution?

A machine shop? It's amazing how much a machine shop can do, and when they get something out of the ordinary, they can get all excited too.
