howdy.
i'm helming a huge project on a very small budget (imagine that) and i need to put together a crew. its a vampire hunter film with lots of action featuring the stunt people: www.thestuntpeople.com and the special fx make-up of eric fox of morb-x. this will be a grittier, darker kinda blade-esque vampire movie. i have 90% of my cast and i'm negotiating the locations. we start shooting aug 1st and i'd like to start assembling the crew as soon as possible. i'm looking for a DP to do lighting and operate a camera (one of several) and 1 or 2 more shooters as well. i have a dvx100b which is what i'm planning on using as one of the cameras. i'd like an hvx for the days we shoot action for the slo-mo capabilities. i also need a coupla sound people, an AC, a script supervisor, a first AD, grips and PA's.
this is set to be a 30 day shoot but were only shooting 10 days of it in aug. this is due to one of our locations being slated for demolition to make way for a housing tract. then we will pick it up again in late sept filming 3-4 day work weeks (fri night to sun/mon night). i will feed you well and negotiate what we agree is a fair price for your work. i'm new at this and alot of people are taking a chance on me so don't be afraid to reply due to a lack of experience. we've all gotta start somewhere.
i'm not gonna candy coat this; it's a vampire flik, that means some whacky hours and there gonna be long days (nights), but i guarantee, they'll be fun.
heres a link to the myspace page for the movie. it has a coupla proof of concept trailers we shot earlier this year. it'll give you an idea of what were trying to accomplish. that reminds me, i'd also like to talk to some people about vfx. my first attempt on these trailers is ok but i need someone who knows what there doing who can also guide me in how to shoot scenes correctly to make the vfx go smoother.
