Folks, I work for a subsideary of Electronics Manu. NEC and found this on our wires this morning. Thought it was interesting:

Nikkei Report, 04 March 2006, 201 Words, (English)
TOKYO (Nikkei)--NEC Corp. (6701) said Friday that it has developed a flowerlike LED device that changes color depending on a person's mood.
Created jointly with two other group companies -- NEC Design Ltd. and SGI Japan Ltd. -- the device, Kotohana, reads people's moods from the tone of their voices.
It picks up a person's voice with its built-in microphone and analyzes it using mood recognition software. A red light will come on if excitement is detected, while blue will denote sadness. Joy will bring on yellow, and normality will be expressed in green.
According to an NEC official, the software is around 70% accurate in assessing a person's mood, which is "not much different from when humans try to read other people's moods only from their voices."
NEC plans to sell the software for use in interior fixtures and cellular phones, but it does not intend to commercialize the Kotohana itself.
The device is slated to be exhibited at the CeBIT international information and telecommunications technology trade show, which will be held in Hannover, Germany, starting next Thursday.
