ND Won't Engage (Fs700)

Hey gang, there has been no impact or out of normal use movement of my FS700, however the ND does not want to engage in all positions. It hangs partially in frame in the stops. Has anyone encountered this issue, was it covered under warranty if you did?

it MUST to be covered under warranty.. I'm sure... :)
 
Probably the thing I dislike the most about this camera is the "insecure" stops at each ND position...
But it sounds like you have a broken camera.
 
I have seen it happen on EX1r's but not on an FS700 but it is basically the same design. Both times I saw it the camera had to be sent back to Sony.
 
The ND filters on the FS700 don't inspire a lot of confidence as the design seems a bit un-sophisticated. I'm surprised I haven't heard of this happening more. Knock on wood.
