ND Fader Filter .... ?

I understand that adding any type of glass in front of our lens will start to degrade the resolution. One thing I've learned in my past is to always buy the best optics possible and hope the more expensive faders are due to using higher quality glass, coatings, etc... I'm curious between the 4 different companies I'm seeing that sell the fader ND filter, which obtains the best resolution ? Has anyone here even tried some of the cheaper brands with good results ?

I have tried the Genus and Lightcraft, and preferred the Genus. There's still a noticeable difference in clarity between the Genus and the Singh-Ray and Heliopan versions, though... plus a noticeable price difference.

Thanks for responding and this is great information... Oh yes the price is about x2 more, but if it's that big of a difference I'm in. I saw a clip of the LC ND fader on youtube and the resolution drop is very noticeable. However it could be his compression, and is why a test chart is best to figure this out. When testing did you use a resolution chart ? If so any chance I could see them ?

check his 2nd link again, its a great post over at Cheesycam and it shows how some of them give off a colour cast while others dont. The Nature ND and the lightcraft both came out on top.
