Let's Go HEAT!!!

Who you got???

Seems like we were just here yesterday...

Can't believe Rose just suffered a torn ACL... It's definitive, he's out for the rest of the Playoffs. I'm with you Victor, it's a shame. I'm still going for the Bulls all the way; they're still a great team.

Been too busy on these forums to focus on basketball.

Now that's busy!

It is a shame, and incredible how injury-prone Rose has been for someone so young.
You never want to see a season-ending injury happen to any player, even one on a rival team (Knicks rookie Shumpert blew his ACL, too).

Worked the Thunder / Mavericks game last night. Crazy finish.

Yeah, that was the running joke even before the doors were open. :)

The other running joke was that all the tee shirts had a typo... they left the "D" off. ;)

When the Thunder played their first home game since Ron Artest of the Lakers (of which Brandon is a diehard fan) was handed his seven game suspension for his "inadvertent" elbow to James Harden's head, there was an interesting moment that played out prior to the game. As is usual in OKC, an invocation precedes the national anthem. The person doing this said, as his final line, "...and we pray for world peace.". An audible groan with some mixed boos followed which quickly turned to laughter.

He should change his name to Meta PHYSICAL World Peace...

In other NBA First Round Violence News-

It's Heat 2, Knicks 0

and

American Airlines Arena Fire Extinguisher Glass Cover 1, Stoudemire 0

He punched the glass cover of a fire extinguisher case (not inadvertantly) in frustration, badly cutting his hand.

Amare tweets "I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions"...

then, (I'm not making this up)

@AAAExtinguisher posts:
"Where's my apology?" and "I busted my glass to get where I am" and "I'm coming after Rondo next"

Man... you just can't make this stuff up...

And Amare? He's out for the season... D'oh!!!

Well, now that the pesky Knicks are out of the picture, it's on to the 2nd round for the Heat- bring it on, Pacers!!!

^ "I pity the fool!!!"

In other NBA news, LeBron wins his 3rd MVP (OK LB haters, that's your cue to come out of hiding!), so he's tied with Bird, Magic and Moses.

Calling the honor "overwhelming" but pointing to a "bigger goal," LeBron James on Saturday became the eighth player in NBA history to win the MVP award three times.
James accepted the trophy and will get to show it off to Miami Heat fans Sunday afternoon when he's presented with the prize again by Commissioner David Stern before Miami faces Indiana in Game 1 of an Eastern Conference semifinal series.

"Heat nation, we have a bigger goal," James said. "This is very overwhelming to me as an individual award. But this is not the award I want, ultimately. I want that championship. That's all that matters to me."

James won the award for the third time in four seasons. Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Moses Malone have won at least that many MVP trophies.

Abdul-Jabbar won six times, Jordan and Russell five times each, Chamberlain four times. Now, they're the only players with more than James.

"We love you," Heat President Pat Riley told James during the ceremony. "Not just because of this, but because of what you mean to our organization."

Wow!

From espn.com today.

And it's only 51% to 49% within Florida. It seems as though his notion that winning would win people over isn't working so well.
