as many of you will know the DVX (and all DV cameras for that matter) can't handle bright reds at all.... it has been a problem that has tormented me in the past.
now the simplest and easiest solution to fixing the problem is to ad a chroma blur but you lose resolution and it's not that great.
i found the nattress "G Chroma Sharpen Progressive" plugin after searching and searching this forum and it was hard to find... i thought i would share my experience with it.
you can find it here in the "Film Effects" plug-in pack for FCP - http://www.nattress.com/Products/filmeffects/filmeffects.htm
i attached some grabs from a test that i did for a short film called "wild rose"
as you can imagine there are bright red things all the way though this film
notice that although the blur has fixed the reds there is less resolution in the green leaves. the nattress plugin is just awesome!!
for those interested the stills are from the PAL 25p dvx/sgpro combo with an 85mm f2 nikkor
