Ah thats Tim Holt in one of my favorites Treasure of the Sierra Madre. One of the exceptions where the movie was as good as the book.

Little Shop of Horrors, Jackie Joseph, Mel Welles, Jonathan Haze and Dick Miller.

BINGO.

It is my understanding that John Huston was very fond of closely following the books that his films were based upon. I heard an apocryphal story about the screenplay for "The Maltese Falcon". According to the story, John Huston gave a copy of the Dashiell Hammett book to a studio secretary and asked her to type it out in screenplay format. From there, it is said, a copy of the secretary's book to script format exercise found its way into the studio bureaucracy and into the hands of the top dog "Suits" who loved the "Script" and greenlighted the project; directing Huston to make that script. He did, and then went on to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay! ... Now I ain't swearing to the accuracy of the account... but it is a cool story.

robmnellson.... You are up!

You should pick up his autobiography, it's a great book. He has some stories about his dealings with B Traven that were really interesting. Of course when he gave the book to his friends they said, "great book John, who was it about?". So some of the stories may need a grain, or whole shaker of salt. But that doesn't make the book any less enjoyable.

Alright, here's a good one. Who is this character acted in the middle of the frame (I think I posted this before, but who cares I just re-watched this film last night):

Strother Martin is so good, love his voice....love him in Slapshot.

That still is from my favorite Peckinpah film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, but I have no idea on the actor.

James Coburn (L) and Richard Jaeckel (R). Great western flick.

1 point for the actor on the right, 2 for the film title. Bonus point if you can name the actor on the left.

Side note: Anyone else having issues with linking pics from a URL? I can get as far as pasting the URL, but then cannot get the "OK" button to work. Had to upload as an attachment this time.

That is Steve Buscemi on the right and Danielle von Zerneck on the left in Tom DiCillo's "Living in Oblivion".

Ok. Here we go. Actor and movie.

BTW, I had a problem uploading pix from an URL a while back and gave up trying. Now I save to my 'puter and upload as an attachment.

Is that grace zabriskie in Inland Empire? I haven't seen the film since theaters, but it looks like it's DV.

Yep it sure is... two points to you. "INLAND EMPIRE" is, at the least, pretty interesting. I thought the scenes where Laura Dern gave the monologues about her life to the creepy guy were very good. She rocks.

Your turn.

Inland Empire was a weird experience for me going to a midnight screening, and coming out dazed at three AM. Since we are onto Lynchian actors, here's one of that pedigree:

I'm off for a quick shoot, I'll be back in four hours or so....so if you guess correctly don't hesitate to post the next one!
