Name this Actor.

I hate to bump out Kimkos thread to post this so here's his link...

There's been no response from GRENCH in a few days so I'll override his chance to post given.

Name this actor and anything else you can tell me about him. Easy one. One point for each point of fact you can give me. Up to 5 points max. Easy.

Ok, this is off the top of my head, without doing any Google, IMDB or Wikipedia. (Honest!)

Dan Blocker, he played the character Hoss Cartwright on the TV series "Bonanza". Other characters in the show, set on the Ponderosa ranch was the father, played by Lorne Green, and his brothers Little Joe played by Michael Landon and Adam, played by Pernell Robert. The Adam character didn't stay around for the full run of the show. There was also an Asian cook that was a fixture of the show. Don't remember the chacter's name. Dan Blocker died relatively young of a heart attack I think. He had a son, whose name I can't remember, that had a reoccurring role on the TV Series "Baa, Baa Black Sheep" in the 1970s.

Ahhh, what else. Oh, "Bonanza" was the first network episodic show to be broadcast in "Living Color" and it was on NBC, I think.

An easy +5 points for you. I never got the dogs name (outake apparently I think this was. haha). Your next up. :)

Ooops, and I didn't know this..
Drew Powell as Hoss Cartwright.

Ha. That didn't last long I guess. It was always Dan Blocker to the rest of us. :)

//I think maybe wiki got that wrong. Maybe it needs a correction? Anyone remember Drew Powell? I don't.

//edit: Drew Powell...mmmm

"New 'Hoss' is Lebanon's Drew Powell"
mmm. Yep. -inhales-...

//edit. I digress. Case solved. Dan Blocker! Period!

Ok. Let's try this one. I think it is pretty easy. Lets say an extra point for the actor slightly out of focus in the background.

So, Actor, character and movie.

JP & JEF in MM.jpg

Oh and in the background thats JE Freemen as Eddie Dane, in his best role other than playing Marcello Santos in Wild at Heart!

This one might be a hard one if you're not well versed in 80's horror. I'm biased since the guy in the picture was one of my favorite teachers in college and the film was shot largely in the Brooklyn neighborhood I lived in for the last decade plus before I became a Texan. Another bonus point if you could name the very successful (on home video anyway) franchise in which he wrote the first film:

Another hint, he was hit in the face by a cream pie in Dawn of the Dead.

Roy Frumkes in "Street Trash" as Melted Business man. He wrote the "Substitute".

Not fair... too many hints and that is all IMDB/Google on my part. The guy is pretty interesting it looks like.

If that is correct, you want to try another?

That is correct! Roy is the best....

How bout a hard one. You don't have to name the movie since it hasn't played beyond the festival circuit. This actor has one role he is best known for, that he played in two films.

That looks to me like Edgar Buchanan, who played Uncle Joe in the "Petticoat Junction" TV series in the 60's. No clue on the movie. He has been in a lot of movies with a lot of legends.

Ah, that is all I need, no looking up, that is Clifton James. I love "The Last Detail"; a Robert Towne script, directed by Hal Ashby, photographed by Michael Chapman; Randy Quad's best role I think. The two roles you mention must be the southern sheriff in two Roger Moore James Bond flicks. (Too lazy to look up the names right now).... What flick is the pic from?

Nice catch! It's actually a still from a movie I shot a few years ago "Worlds Best Dad". We played at a few festivals, but the producers never pushed too hard for a release via netflix or anything since there may be some legal issues. The director is on dvxuser as well, he goes by hermmernfern.

We shot the movie with a crew of three on a budget of next to nothing. it came out pretty well considering we had nothing.

You're up!
