I think Kai just set the future precedent for all namedropping. In order to not sound like a namedropping blabbermouth.....all namedrops accompanied by a [shameless namedrop] and ended with an [/shameless namedrop] will be allowed.

I rubbed shoulders with Troma's Lloyd Kaufman last weekend....

I've also dined at Shoney's at the same table with Mick Foley. He had a few more matches as Cactus Jack before he went to WWF to work as Mankind. That guy is a class act.

Earnest Thomas (Roger) from the show What's Happening is a good friend of mine. Too bad he moved to Cali two years ago, haven't spoken much since.

I ove Lloyd Kaufman, but if I was in that picture, he wouldn't be the one whose name I was droppin....yowza

Lloyd Kaufman is the head of Troma Studios. They are behind such classics as the Toxic Avenger and Kabukiman, NYPD. They also distribute other people's films with some success. My understanding is that they are the last truly independent film studio in the country; meaning they both produce and distibute films for themselves and other people, yet aren't owned by a larger corporate concern. They are based in NYC. Lloyd has written a couple of books about his experiences with Troma which, IMHO, are both entertaining and even inspiring, (provided you can sift through the sophomoric humor and bitterness towards the Big Boys in Hollwood)

I think he should be better known, if not for quality filmmaking, then at least for his innovative methods of promotion, and his perseverance in the face of constantly facing bankruptcy, failure and shame as a filmmaker. Well, he may already have the shame.

Went shopping with Paris Hilton (and like 50 other camera guys and still guys, but I was the only one with her in the store).

Michael Ironside farted on me... that is honestly true... I was operating a smoke machine behind set and he thought there was no one there, I guess.

Any names I would drop, or stories of it, wouldn't mean much to most of you guys - pretty much all happened back in the good old Land of Bohemia.

My aunt had a distiguished career as a soloist in the Czech National Theatre Ballet, and through that she got a lot of gigs as a choreographer/ movement consultant in film and TV. She'd met many (locally) famous people but rarely resorted to name dropping, except when asking someone to call a cab. She always said 'Tell them it's for Mrs. **** from the National Theatre'. The operator would be, like, 'Mrs. WHO?' - every time.

I met a whole bunch of 'famous' people through her. The only problem is, their fame stops at the Czech-German border :(

Hands down the best name dropping story thus far.

After an interview on the set of some movie she was doing, Brittany Murphy went to give me a hug, and I was so excited, I accidentally grabbed her right boob.

How do you compete with that! Ding , ding the winner.

I had sushi with Lucy Liu, before she was big, she had been on ER thats about it. And the same evening had drinks with Nev Campbell. But the other 30 odd years have been viod of anything too big. Unless you count the occasional nod at a craft service table.
