John - LOL :) My original post was going to be, "I know John Hudson and Jarred Land. That's all the naming dropping anyone needs." But decided to post the QT and RR comment. I'm Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! :(

Actually, I got a chuckle out of your comment.

In all fairness... even if you had made that post, it wouldn't be as funny as John saying it because he took it over the top with the "Barry freakin' Green" line.

I'm just sayin'...

Well, how many here can actually say they have touched the same object as someone famous?

Not too difficult for those of us on the same continent, but I have actually touched the same wide angle lens owned by P.K. Gillock himself! All the way from Thailand.

It very well might be the first wide angle lens to ever rest on two DVX100's half a world apart.

Oh, and if Rush@EVS actually hand packed my MQ's, then we've got that bond too...

And one day, I SWEAR I will personally shake hands with BLUESPIDER. (and pookie if he ever acknowledges I exist)

Hey, I'll top you all. I went to grade school with Glen Scarpelli

Yea that's right, Glen Scarpelli.

No, I mean it. I've got pictures.

Glen Scarpelli man!

You know....the kid who showed up in the 3ed Season of One Day at a Time.

ONE DAY AT A TIME!

The show with Eddie Van Halen's wife.....from the 70's....

The one with Schneider?

C'mon kids, I'm talking about GLEN SCARPELLI!

Are those crickets I hear?

Well one time I hung out with John Entwhistle at Manny's Music on 48th street...

Here's another one....

The kid who played Bobby Brady in The Brady Bunch movies was on my soccer team. BOOYAH! PWNZORxolsrsa!

Last night I got Bob Sagat's signature. It says:

TC- I don't suck dick for coke. You're going places. -Bob Sagat

HOW MONEY IS THAT!?

I once ran into Prince at a Shinders. I went in looking for a magazine (Entertainment Weekly or Playboy or something.... not important) and there's this limo sitting out front of the store, and it's running.
As far as I could tell it was empty. I walk in and go to the back of the store (not that back) to pick up my mag, and I turn a corner and this dude is standing there, and he turns around and holy crap it's Prince in his wierd bell bottom suit.

From what I could tell he was overseeing his limo driver and his floozy picking out magazines, presumably for him. I think it was like Better Homes and Gardens or something.

Well I got to nervous to buy the magazine so I ended up not knowing what went on in the entertainment world for a whole seven days.

geez, you could trip over that dude and never see him.

TC, you should frame that and put it over the mantle.

Truthfully? my wife is famous and it is a turn off when my friends and even my mother drop her name. They do it all the time. drop. How she ended up with me... thats another story  The best one i heard went something like this-

"Oh my god, if you need any big names like Brad Pitt or George Clooney I am in the thick of it here in L.A.. I am in with 'the shizznit' and i can totally try to hook you up. I've been going to parties and meeting all these big names blah blah blah..."

Yeah sure lets go ahead and put a call in to George and see if he wants to be in my
spoof on Oceans twelve. uhh yeah that sounds good for his career. :lipsrseal

still..."It don't matter to the Jesus"

I was recently hired as Benjamin Bratt's stand-in on the show E-Ring. Nice guy, but the best part was reading a few lines with Dennis Hopper.

My life is now complete.

Benjamin Bratt's stand-in? Now that's the greatest pick-up line EVER! :) I could NEVER stand-in for that guy. Pee Wee Herman, maybe.

Um...I got to meet Jarred Leto tonight. I was a little star-struck to tell you the truth. Requiem rules!! Good Times!!

~reservoir~

My favorite is when family and friends say "we can say we knew you when." I always respond with, wouldn't you know me then as well? Bugs me. Just seems condescending. Oh yeah, I knocked over Bob Costas during the 2002 Winter Games... what, I couldn't see the elf!:engel017:

My wife's dad, who is incredibly generous and good to me and our collective children, is the worst name-dropper I've ever met.

We get to hear constant stories about every NBA / NFL / MLB / NHL player in Los Angeles and how people like Anthony Michael Hall "stop by the house all the time" and what he drinks or eats or worse and there is a constant droning on and on about how the Long Beach Dub AllStars slash Sublime surviving members did all of his son's ink and how they're starting a clothing line together.

Her dad sells Cadillacs and has more "friends" in the business than me.

LOL, you gotta love the LA scene...

[shameless namedrop] Ha small world, I mixed a live show for those guys a few years back. Still have one of their distortion pedals in my attic. [/shamelessnamedrop]

Kai,

Yeah, they were asking me about that. You can send it to my brother-in-law and he'll get it back to them.
