NAB2013 and 4K cameras

Seems BM has gotten on the 4K bandwagon with a new BMC that does 4K RAW, I assume for under 4K! Also Sony is showing off an early 4K prototype DSLR(whcih means maybe reaching the market mid to late 2014??)
So now my prospective purchase of a 1DC is more problematic.
I KNOW I'll get great use of the camera, but for the same price I could get 3 BM cameras!( or a C100 with change left for a couple L lenses)
Also wondering if Canon will be forced by market pressure to reduce the price of the 1DC in 6 months to a year to stay competitive with other new cameras.
The though of my 12-14k investment being potentially worth only half my intitial investment in a year is not too appealing ...

Decisions, decisions...

You could buy the BM 4k ($3995), the BM PocketHD ($995), and the C100 ($5499), and it would still be cheaper than the 1DC. 3 of the 4 cameras use EF lenses, the exception is the PocketHD which is MFT, but you could get the MFT/EF Speed Booster which comes out this month.

But if you need a rugged camera, the 1DC is the better option. There is also the chance that Canon will be releasing a new camera at NAB, or later in April with the supposed big announcement.

So much stuff, makes the decision even more difficult.

As far as I know, globally 80% of the BMCC orders have not been fullfilled. Also there were numerous reports of camera glitches (dropped frame, sensor pattern noise, shutdown problem etc.)

when BMCC was announced last year, it gave people high hope, just like this 4K version. I wish BMD doesn't let us down again.

As for 1D C, I believe it's worth the price, for its reliability and versatility, not to mention the quality of images coming out from it.

Yes there are cheaper Cameras than the Canon 1Dc coming but will the Battery last, how does the image hold up, what is the Dynamic Range, can you use it with out a "cage", will it work in bad weather ie is it weather sealed like your L glass.......(The list goes on)?

I heard about that too, but supposedly it won't be a high end model.

The price is a huge turn off, but wth 4K, 12.5 stops dynamic range and unsurpassed low light noise handling in a DSLR package ( is there ANY digital camera that has better noise handling than the 1DC?. Shane Hurlbut claims NO visible noise in C-log up to 3200 ISO) the 1DC is still an incredible tool, aptly described as a DSLR on 'crack'. I've read elsewhere that rolling shutter is minimal if you use S35 mode and any banding, compression artifacts avoided if you use the optimal ISO of 400

Just watched Dan Chung's interview with Chuck Westfall, he said the new firmware for 5D3 will come out "by the end of this month", pointless info!

Also they forgot to ask about the new firmware for 1D C.
