NAB - What's your camera wishlist?

I'll be buying a new camera this year and thought it's be cool to hear what features everyone's hoping the new cameras annouced at NAB will have. I'm praying someone comes close to this:

Under $5kUS
Large sensor (APS-C or larger).
Full Canon or Nikon Lens compatibility.
Built in ND filter.
Clean video out (don't care how HDMI is fine).
LCD with peaking.
I don't need 4k, but 1080p/60 would be nice.

Sounds like I want either a 5Dm3 in a video body, a MUCH cheaper C300 or a melding of the AF100 and the FS100...

S16mm digital raw camera, preferably at least 2.5k or 3k resolution, 4-5Mp. But 2k would be OK too. Don't need much in the way of fancy features. PL mount, some sort of decent monitoring solution, SSD recording, 60fps or higher progressive would be nice.

S35, ND filters, XLR's, $4k-$8K close to 1K lines of res and better DR than my AF100. We'll see :/

I want a high(er) FPS camera that isn't going to cost me an arm and both legs... And I'm not asking for 1000fps, 120fps would be fine!

My perfect camera would be:

S35 (but would settle for less, like m4/3 would be nice too)
120fps
2k (would settle for 1080p)
half decent codec/bitrate
Interchangeable lens
XLR
$5k-$10k
Standard recording media. (ie: SD, CF, SSD)

Hmm those specs sound so familiar for some reason... Oh well.

I'd like to see a mix of the af100 and fs100. Great sensor and lowlight like in the fs100. Hd-SDI and internal NDs like from the af100. Better build than either. Removable monitor that can be mounted on an arm would be nice instead of locked into a place that doesn't work on all setups. I'd love to see a better internal codec (avc- intra or 35mb xdcam) with a better clean output for external recorders as well.

So I guess the af100 with a better sensor, codec, and build--or the fs100 with NDs, SDI, better build, and better codec.

I imagine we'll see several of these changes, but doubtful theyll do much about the codec at the $5k price point.

What are you talking about William  I shoot every weekend with my af100 gonna have over 500hrs when it's time to sell :D

I know you were joking, so am I with the reply

Well the HPX 250 with rebate is under that price so we might see close to what you are looking for at that price, a "AF250" with a m4/3 (s35?) sensor and lens mount, 2 P2 card slots, AVC-Intra, 4 NDs.... who Knows (well maybe Barry Green does)?

That would be nice, but announcing only 1080p products at this point would be underwhelming. Sony, Canon, and JVC have all announced or mentioned 4K or QuadHD cameras, whereas Panasonic hasn't.

af100 + hpx250
sensor: oversized 4/3 or close to aps-c
better DR
better resolution
panny-log
avc-intra

maybe this is being overstated laready LOL i love my af100 its been a workhorse but that doesntmean i cant lust for something better.

I don't know about anyone else, but if they address all the othe issues we have and it has the image quality of, say, the fs100 I'd have a hard time complaining about it not being 4k...

I'd like to see any camera that gets people out shooting and not wishing for cameras.

couldn't resist.

All I really would like a for our current Canon dslrs to have reduced Moire and aliasing , but even in their present state I am able to create my content and I love the art of motion picture.

They announced AVC-Ultra last year, which had provisions for 4:4:4 at up to 4K res. So while they haven't announced a specific camera that's 4K or QuadHD, clearly they're preparing for it.

I want to see also something that competes with the C300 from Panasonic but for =or<$5000 us dollars, sorry, that's my budget.

My ideal camera:

Micro 4/3 sensor (love it)
4K recording with optional 1080p clean downscale (won't happen, but one can dream)
No less than 50Mbps AVCHD or some other similar on-board codec
Clean 10bit HDMI/HD-SDI output at 1080p
XLR inputs
Built-in ND filters
SD card recording
AF100-style body, but with a removable viewfinder
Less than $10K

More realistic option:

Micro 4/3 sensor
1080p clean resolution (downscaled from a 4K sensor)
AVCHD @ 24Mbps plus a "broadcast mode" 50Mbps on-board codec
Clean 10bit HDMI/HD-SDI output at 1080p
XLR inputs
Built-in ND filters
SD card recording
AF100-style body
Less than $5K
