NAB Show 2022

I've been reading everybody's posts and a powerful tang of nostalgia has come over me. I personally consider the golden age of digital video to fall between 2002 and 2012 when that feeling of euphoria washed over me concerning the possibilities of what can be after the democraticization of the film making process afforded by the new technology at the time. I visited this and the DVInfo sites daily, contributing to discussions, learning new techniques and entering online six minute short movies for DVInfo's online film festivals. It was all an exciting rush! I had greatly benefited from senior member's expertise and have always considered these two websites my film schools! I said thank you then and I say it now. It kinda feels like DVInfo and DVXUser are the old shopping malls now falling into consumer apathy and waning attendance through no fault of either website. I guess it's just the times. Kinda feels like the world is overshadowed by a giant blanket of apathy and melancholy after these past few years of insanity. Just a personal feeling. Others may feel different. I attended NAB in 2005, thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. I believe we, as content creators, are overdue for a renaissance or some kind of "New Wave" resurgence in creative film making. It's just over the horizon and I welcome its arrival.
