NAB - DSLR stuff... and RED Epic

Hey guys, I was going to wait until the end of the week before I posted some pics/vids from the NAB show, but I was just too excited not to. I'm back at my hotel room now at the Aria, but before I head out to gamble some - I figured I'd share a few of the pics and vids. Unless specifically permitted, video recording was actually not allowed - I was told twice to stop filming by NAB reps, so I apologize in advance if the clips seem incomplete.

Video 1: Canon HD theater. There was a large room showcasing footage from Canon XL/XH/XF series cameras, as well as all of Canon's DSLR lines (7D, 5D Mk II, 1D Mk IV), and I must say that the DSLR footage actually did hold up well. The only clip I saw during the HD Presentation that looked like there was some suffering was the "Indian Wedding" - it suffered some major pixelation. Besides that though - Mr Blooms (whom I had the pleasure to speak to for a while) footage looked beautiful.

Video 2 & 3: RedRock Micro - Some AWESOME looking stuff coming from RedRock Micro this year. Remote Follow Focus, Version 3 Follow Focus, Sonar based distance finder, and so much more. The projected release date for all products in the video is summer 2010. Note: RedRock's booth was by far; my favorite among the camera accessories section of the show Not only did they have products I was most excited about - but their guys were super nice and fun to talk to. They also gave me a few RedRock micro hats and RedRock micro backpacks for free as well :) If any of RR's guys come upon this, thanks for all the free stuff ^__^

Video 4: RED Epic - I couldn't get any information except the guy kept saying; "this thing is future proof - 1080p is good now, but the scarlet will last you through the years. If you want to future proof your investment - 4k footage is the way to go." I wasn't able to get much more footage as I was told to stop recording. Sorry guys!

Video 5: Arri Alexa - It's only a 4-5 second clip of some lady hoisting it onto her shoulder, I got waived at to stop filming - so meh... probably not worth posting (as much as most of my guerrilla clips), but here it is anyways :)

Video 6: Tango Steadicam - short clip of it in use. Neat looking I must say.

enjoy guys - I'll get back to this thread after I lose some money downstairs :)

***clips will be available as soon as they're done encoding on vimeo.

update:
***sorry, looks like I made this thread too soon - my laptop is giving me problems with the video renders - they'll be up, when they're up... apologies - but I'll post some pics for the meantime.

Great shots - thanks for posting these.
This kind of stuff is great to see for those of us who can't make it out there.

Keep it up

Yeah! Those were really cool pictures. I'm gonna go ahead and let you know that that's an Epic and not a Scarlet. Scarlet is behind (only slightly of course) in terms of development and there is no way that RED would have put a Scarlet on the NAB floor before their big RED day reveal.... Just sayin'

Red4Breakfast - Thanks! Hmm, I heard the guy mention the name. He kept saying; "scarlet will redifine..." yada yada, I'll double check my shots to make sure though!

How embarrassing for me xD

you're right... I zoomed in closer into the footage, and it does seem to be infact an Eipc - I wish I could change the title thread =x
Maybe a mod could help me out - sorry about that guys... false hope!

***Redrock Micro video up now.
