Really not a fan of Blackmagic's stuff. The DAs ive worked with overheat.. the first pocket's battery died in extreme temps.. idk, just not a fan of their stuff.

ATEM Television Studio Pro 4k for $3k

Specs look amazing, 8 inputs/outputs in 12g SDI, with Teranex built into each input to auto scale any HD or 4k input. Plus enhanced chroma key features. I think this is Huge.

So I'm going to make a wild speculation:

Sony a7s III will be announced during Photokina in September and it will feature Raw output over HDMI.

Why do I think that? BMPCC 4K ships in September and they want to get as many pre-orders in as they can before before any competition is announced.
Also in the interview about the Atomos Ninja V he seemed to hint that "you should tell your favorite camera manufacturer to allow Raw over HDMI" so it can record in Prores Raw.

Just wishful thinking. September's quite a ways from now too so who knows.

For the past 5 years, BM has always released their preorders for their new cameras in April and then they ship months later (besides the UMP and Broadcast which were available almost immediately).

Sony probably won't do RAW in that camera just because of the kind of product it is. We should definitely expect a bunch of features but maybe not RAW until it's at least more common (at least in the mirrorless').

Never say never though, right?

Ninja V is a long awaited dream come true... interesting, I guess this means ProRes RAW is possible over HDMI... if cameras end up supporting that this will be the recorder that makes me regret my Shogun Inferno purchase. Hoping that happens ;) (alongside an expediated timeline for the inevitable Windows/Adobe read-support of ProRes RAW)

Ninja V looks awesome! Kind of wish there was an SDI version because it'd be a cracking on camera recorder that doesn't take up too much space, and still has a decent monitor - fingers crossed for that at IBC! Completely get that it's a mirrorless and DSLR product mainly, and for that it looks really sweet!

Has anyone been by the Musicbed stand and got the lowdown on the membership thing? I'm really curious but there's nothing online about it yet!

Not entirely sure how raw works over HDMI but cool beans that they seem to have figured it out. Although I'm not sure how they tested that since no device exists that can send raw over HDMI. I think they just figured in theory it could be done but until somebody actually works with them to attempt it I'm not going to hold my breath.

The Ninja V webpage doesn't mention anything about raw so it is not being advertised openly yet.

The specs don't even list ProRes raw yet so this may be coming as a future firmware update once a camera actually figures out how to do it.
