NAB 2013: Atomos Samurai Blade

I was looking at getting a decent external monitor for my AF100 anyways... if the screen is accurate, I my just plunk down a little extra so I can have a recorder as well.

How is the image quality compared to the Odyssey 7?

Seems like the Blade could be a better deal because for $1300 you can get a monitor and recorder, while for the Odyssey you only get the monitor. I guess we should wait and see how much Convergent will charge for the codecs.

I would say the image quality doesn't really compare to the Odyssey.... though I mainly say that because of the size of the screen.
THe resolution is actually nearly identical, but as a monitor I would prefer the Odyssey personally. I found the size to be easier to work with for focus and the scopes to be easier to read and quicker to refresh.

Though if we're just talking about monitor quality, I have to say the newest SmallHD monitors are the nicest I've seen at the show.
