NAB 2006 Get-together

It seems that the many of the contributors to this Board will be in Las Vegas for NAB April 22-27. How about picking an evening to get together for a NAB/JVC user party. We'll be happy to provide the room and drinks / hors d' oeuvres if there's enough interest. I think it'd be a great way to put names with faces and I'll see about having a vendor there to answer questions, display products and discuss the future of stuff to come.
 
And we'll provide three or four HD monitors for some of you who would like to show your shorts or other works during the shindig.
 
We did an informal HVX thing like this last year. Do you want this to be a JVC only thing, or can us HVXers come too?
 
I'd say the more the merrier. The important thing is the free and open exchange of ideas and help irrespective of the tools of trade. But just because we're putting it together, this is a democracy. Let's get a few of us together and see what we come up with. By the way, fun working with you and Rush a couple of Sundays ago.
 
The pass cost varies from $150 for an Exhibits Only floor pass to $1,325 for an FCP / Conference Attendee Certification package. In between there are a nunmber of packaged units designed around specific areas of interest. Hawkfeather Productions will be attending the Digital Cinema Forum at $375 and the Post Production Forum at $595. Non-members are typically $100 more for each forum and there are several diferent forums from which to choose. It's not always put together well and, in my humble opinion, this year is no exception. We like to be able to combine the Digital and Post Production conferences but they're separate units costing individually and run concurrently so two people will be going to one and on to the other. Finally, if you can find an Exhibitor who's a friend, you can ask him or her for their VIP Exhibits Code and enter it into the web registration form at https://registration.expoexchange.com/ShowNAB061/Attendee/Login.aspx and the show is free.

I'll be their. Just now booking hotel thru nab. Best prices for hotels I have seen is to book thru NAB housing. Staying at Luxor. Been going to NAB for a couple of years and the hotel prices keep going up. Oh well no money to gamble with.
 
Correction, Luxor booked up so I will be staying at the RIO. Better book your hotels early. At these prices, next year I'll be sleeping in my car.
 
I didn't know what Jared was up to but perhaps we can do one big party. That would be fun but one way or another, it's good to know that we'll all be getting together at one or more parties at NAB. There's much to share and a great need for the unity and comraderie as technoilogy brings us closer together in the coming year. .
 
Jared, as usual, is right on top of things. One of the best groups for this event is StudentFilmmakers.com. They're a great group of guys and girls. Their code is BR07 so just go to http://www.nabshow.com/registration/default.asp, click Exhibits Only with a VIP Pass, put that code, BR07, in the box provided and fill out the rest of the info. Voila, you're on the floor for free.
 
Any idea of what date we will have this get together? Do to scheduling issues I'll only have time to get out there for a couple of days (one night). Would like to make reservations before it's too late.
 
Ive got it booked and all sorted out.. Sunday to Tuesday is the DVXuser party.. all i can say right now is it will be after the show Monday and Tueaday night

Just a little me giving back to all of you for making thing such a great place.

This started as a post from jlams regarding a HD100 get together that then was weaved into the DVX get together, hence how it ended up like this :)
