lots of questions today

so far im not exactly adventurous, im shooting in autofocus, manual wb (much simpler than i feared), f1 scene setting, and manual iris with the zebra thing, when the N/D filter warning comes in the viewfinder i change the filter setting and... clunk huge noise on tape, is there another way to apply filter without moving this big lever ?

Maybe stop filming before moving the big lever ! ...if you move it smooth enough i found it dont make a noise try being a bit more gentle slide it up not push it hard

Use a Velocity Envelope in Post to get rid of this noice or set up your shots prior to actually recording.

Scene File 1? (Raaaalllppphhhh)

Agreed. Stop recording, then switch, and resume recording.

I am guilty of checking this post, after seeing that you (John) had posted. First time I swear!

yeah i know
i ll get there, i really think i ll go 24p soon but im getting used to using it in challenging conditions (dark, fast moving with crowd of people bouncing around me at a gig) and so im finding AF easier right now, cos AF in 24p is sloooowww.
that said i just got a manfrotto monopod, (the one that has the little feet that come out) and having camera steadier may help me concentrate on manual focus ?
hope that made sense

ps any tips on using a monopod in a cramped enviroment

love this forum, putting up with the dumb ?'s
