My whole city is in class D airspace!

Mentioned earlier in the thread was some sort of "specialist" license that I am not familiar with and was wondering if there was something above and beyond the 107 certification for UAS that might be helpful.

That was me...

By "specialist" I more meant someone who does this day-in, day-out and is used to walking the logistics minefield. Of course someone who does this will also likely be licensed (and insured) at the highest possible level - what exactly that level is will depend on your local legislation.

In Australia they have just recently made it legal to fly drones for commercial purposes - that is, anyone who owns a drone can use it to make money by selling their footage, as long as they are registered with the authorities. However, they are bound by strict rules (probably similar to your "class D" airspace restrictions) which make a lot of filming impractical. So while it is legal, it is not always practical. However, people doing this commercially (ie: flying drones as a full-time commercial business) often obtain a commercial pilots license which in effect allows them more access. Perhaps you need to look into what options there are to obtain higher licenses in your country.
