My Website

It looks really nice. :) Very professional.

But, unfortunately, nobody will ever find your beautiful site on G**gle. :(

Your site uses only images (BIG ones too!) so search engine spiders (bots) have nothing to crawl or index because there's no actual content (text). Example: Your "About Us" page uses images for all it's text. If you fiddle with Dreamweaver (and CSS) a little you should be able to recreate everything you have now, but with actual text. Therefore increasing your chances of people finding your beautiful site. But if G**gle traffic isn't important then don't worry about it. ....But I'd still shrink (optimize) some of those background images (in ImageReady). Their file sizes are too big and you don't want to make people wait too much.

Good luck!

I'm with PK on this. On slower connections, it could take your site a while to load. I have no patience at all, and only give a site a few seconds to load. After that, I just assume it is dead and move on. Done that with this site a few times.

Cool. Thanks so much for the info. I will start shrinking. I'm looking to kind of stay low key and I designed the site all on iweb. =)

Great info and knowledge, though.

It's greatly appreciated.

I think it *looks* beautiful.

But I am on a very fast connection here, and (unless something is wrong with my hookup this morning) even through a wide pipe this site takes a long time, to come up. Which, like PK and the Capt say, is not so good.

Also...the home page image is really beautiful...but it's also kind of darkish, and moody, and high-contrast. I wonder if that is the feel that is going to pull in most wedding-videographer-seekers, who I suspect will respond better to something brighter, cheerier, and more comfortable. The Edward Gorey wedding, isn't for everybody...

Ditto to what everyone said - and I'll add one thing...
This may just be my personal pet peeve...but when I hit your 'wedding' link along the bottom, I thought I was going to see another page about your wedding work, maybe some images/text, etc. Instead it opened up your wedding demo video, which kind of took me by surprise.

Personally, I like to know when I'm opening a video online.
Especially for people at work - or people who might have slower connections and only want to view the site and not the video - I would suggest making it clear that those links lead to video demos and not to additional pages.

Just my 2 cents.
But yes, it looks very nice.

on 'about us' page, in the box that says "are you searching for a videographer or editor", there's 4 white marks on the stroke of the window, above the D G and R in videographer.

Actually, when I first saw that image you mentioned, I didn't really think it was too dark, as much as I thought "The Bride is up there! You're missing the shot dude!"

Yeah, the whole site is too big and slow. I have a decent net connection (1mpbs ADSL) and it was slow to load for me. And your demo video easpecially needs to be compressed more to load faster. Even loosing some frame size would help. The quality looked great for the first 10-15 seconds, then I cought up with the buffer that was crawling along, so I moved on.

Replaceing a lot of those graphics with smart code and lightweight graphics will go a LONG way to both speeding up the site, and helping with page rankings in search engines as PK mentioned.
