My turn to ask an easy question.

Hello, it is that time of the year for me to look like the idiot. I am away from Barry's book and I have been shooting on set. I was impressing some friends at the end of the day by killing off left over P2 space. I had them jump in the air and whatnot while recording at 720p 60 fps. I was under the impression that when I switched the camera over to VCR mode I could view the slow motion footage.... when I played back they were jumping at real world speed, not the 2.5x playback. Was I wrong to assume you could watch different frame rates as they play back in 24p?

I am curious about this too. I have noticed that playback shows the variable frame rates in their true form (for instance playing back at 24 fps) in NATIVE modes such as 720 PN but not in the 720 P non-native modes. It seems that in 720 P, the variable framerates are played back at the specified variation frame rate and not at the playback frame rate.

Prodigy, at least it will work if you switch to the PN mode. Hopefully someone can elaborate further.

I am changing the frame rates in the scene files, but now i see what must be my mistake. I am not in PN mode. I don't know why that matters vs regular 720p at 60fps, but ill try PN right now!

Just got back inside and you're 100% correct. I never used PN because I thought that was for duplicate frames to save space and i never really was concerned with that.
