my Sony A7s LCD screen keeps shutting off

Not sure if anyone else has encountered this, but lately my Sony A7s LCD screen keeps shutting off. It used to happen whenever i touched the viewfinder (I wish i could disable that setting), but it happens now every few seconds without me doing anything. Yet my battery is fully charged so I don't think it's a low battery issue causing this.

Any thoughts as to what might be causing this? Has anyone else come across this issue of the LCD screen shutting off after only a few seconds for no reason. It's really frustrating.

Could it be the proximity sensor near the viewfinder that thinks you're looking through the evf and automatically shuts off the lcd?

Thanks everyone for your help. I'll be sure to do that. But in this case, it's happening for no reason. For example, when I'm holding the camera as I normally would from the grip area, without my hands moving anywhere close to the monitor, it's cutting out. That's why I'm afraid it might be something more going on. But I'll be sure to disable that feature hoping it solves the issue. Thanks again for all your replies and help.

I had an HDMI cable dangling near the proximity sensor and it triggered it.
