I have been putting time into building this in the past few days. Its for my XH A1 But should work for most cameras. I used some parts from one of those doorway pullup bars. (The curved tubes and the square plastic piece that the monitor is sitting on.) I made it so I can take basically everything apart without tools and put in the camera bag. Going to film some football tonight from the sidelines. Hope it works.
One feature I think will help is the monopod I have clipped to the rig. I can pull that off, and pop it over that little copper pluming pipe you see on the front of the rig. I can put the weight of the rig on that mono pod if necessary, and when I need to move, slip the monopod back into the compact position and clip it back on. I don't have a DSLR nor do I have extra lenses, so I have no idea how versatile the length or rigidity of the tubes are. But its a start in the right direction. I just needed something I can run for a few hours without killing my back.

I'll probably pop another handle on the left and make some other changes after tonight.
