My Second Music Video - Letus35 FE Setup

A fellow DVXuser wanted to shoot a music video so we decided to get together to do one. This is only the second one I have done. We shot it in a photography studio against a white wall which he had. We used some reflectors to get some light onto the bloke's face as he was wearing a hat. Shot with the Letus35FE, the adapter definitely loses ALOT of light. My advise is, bring some SERIOUS lighting equipment for the DVX+Letus setup.

Editing was done on FCP, with CC3Way and then I put a Magic Bullet filter in which made a subtle but noticeable difference. As usual YouTube kinda screwed it up but the original uncompressed footage looks good, but a little grainy.

I would have liked to shoot more scenes as I found out during editing we just didn't have much footage to play around which is a shame.

Would appreciate any comments on whether you see any improvements from my FIRST music video :) and also on future improvements. Thanks

Did you add any extra vignetting to it? I like it but was just wondering if you added some in post or if its from teh adapter. I Liked it. Nice simple video, clean, good colors. Compression didnt ruin it for me. The ' having not enough footage to work with ' has happened to me before lol :D

I know what you mean about the light loss. thats why i went with the non flip ( L35E ) Ill deal with the flipping later; to me that little bit of extra light helps.

I liked the coloring and shot composition. I think the only thing I could suggest is maybe even trying a little camera movement. Let it wander a little; that might work well on songs like this. The shots you have are really good, but they are all static ones. what did you use for a backdrop? was it just a white wall?

we shot it in a photography studio for wedding shoots and it had a really big nice curved white wall. Vignetting is from adapter. I don't know why this time it showed up so prominently. must be the white background.

Camera movement wise, I think you're right. I've always shot freehand most time, but decided to use a tripod for this one. Perhaps a mixture of hand held and tripod would have worked better. Again I guess boils down to not having enough footage!!!

Thanks for checking it out.
